We're Back
Due to the positive response we received last year, we have decided to continue our project for a second year. You'll notice we inverted the design (black t-shirts are so much cooler) and are also selling a few new things (Those will be coming soon).
We also have a new goal this year: beat last year's record. Last year we started off with a pooled loan of $35 dollars and almost two months later we were able to raise and donate $335 after paying back the loan and paying for costs of the shirts. That's pretty awesome.
But we can beat it. You can help us.
The Idea
The highschool students and leaders at Mars Hill Bible Church were asked to take out $5 micro-loans from the church. With this loan we are asked to start a micro business and try to turn each of our loans into profit. This profit wil be donated to Turame, a microfinance bank in Burundi.
We decided to make and sell T-shirts. We knew a guy that makes T-shirts, and he thought it was a good idea (he's the last one pictured on the left). The first guy pictured came up with a design and decided to also make a website.
The Design
Just in case you're wondering, the period at the end of Turame is actually the outline of Burundi.
The Cost
These awesome looking T-shirts are being sold for $10. Every last bit of profit generated by the sales of these T-shirts will be donated to Turame, a microfinance bank in Burundi, Africa. Turame helps poor families in Burundi start their own businesses so they can support their familiy members. Want to know more about Burundi and Turame? Who We Are
We are ordinary students and leaders. We have an idea that we want to share with you. Together, ordinary people can take an ordinary idea and do extrodinary things.
More specifically, we are a small group from the junior class at Anthem, the high school ministry of Mars Hill Bible Church. Our pictures are shown at the top left.
